We follow the same four basic steps when we begin our transformation process, and looking back at the results is one of our absolute favourite practices.

  • In almost every case, each property starts with a fresh coat of white paint to brighten up the space. The goal is to make it feel as fresh and as new as possible.
  • We try our best to work with the homeowner’s existing furniture. Depending on the style and condition of each piece already in the home, we make a call to work with it or swap it out with one of our pieces.
  • We often switch around the layout of a room to really maximize the size of the space, keeping photography angles in mind along the way. In the case below, we decided to switch two rooms entirely.
  • The final step is where the magic happens! We layer in all the goodies – rugs, artwork, pillows, plants, knick knacks – and the space really comes alive.

This was a gorgeous space with high ceilings, so we wanted to freshen things up and make it feel more modern to match their newly renovated kitchen! The coffee table had been subject to some tough love and the artwork was hung a little too high. but the sofa had good bones, so we used that as our starting point! We added in some colour with lots of fun accessories, and swapped out the coffee table for a round one, which tend to work well with L-shaped sofas.

For this space I recommended the wood window trim and baseboards be painted the same white as the freshly painted walls, but in this case the homeowners were attached to the wood trim so they decided to keep it natural. We brought in all new furniture and accessories in a cream and black palette to really give the space a fresh, modern feel.

In this case, the entire room was cleared out so we could really showcase the space. Our goal was to make this older home feel more modern. A queen size bed, fresh linens, new side tables and some killer art pulled this space together beautifully.

Would you believe we were able to use all the furniture in this children’s bedroom?! With a fresh coat of white paint, new linens, and a bundle of cute accessories, we completely transformed this room using its existing furniture!

What was once used as a dining room, we turned into the living room (we’re magic like that). When we first entered this room, we were drawn to its cozy vibe and knew we needed to showcase how it would feel as a living room. The homeowner had a gorgeous dining table, so we moved it into the larger, more grand room that was adjacent to this one. We brought in all-new furniture and accessories to transform this space into a modern, homey space, ideal for lounging.
